His Holiness (H.H) Tulku Karma Trinley Thubten Chöje Gyaltsen Rinpoche was born on 6 June 1966 in the Tibetan Fire Monkey year on the propitious Saga Dawa Day. The birthplace of Gyaltsen Rinpoche is endowed with extraordinarily auspicious geomancy; situated on the sacred ridge of Dokham Sumgang and surrounded with numerous holy sites. His father was Ma Yongdengdeng Dorje, who came from a noble lineage, while his mother Goshi Jiram, was deeply devoted to the Buddha.

From childhood, Gyaltsen Rinpoche exhibited exceptional compassion and intelligence. He began studying Tibetan at age nine and, at twelve, took refuge and ordination under H.H. Kyabje Dilyak Dabzang Rinpoche. At eighteen he entered a three-year retreat at La’gyab Monastery under the guidance of H.H. Tulku Ngangchen Rinpoche, completing major preliminary and advanced practices including Ngöndro, the Six Dharmas of Nāropa, and Mahāmudrā, and becoming one of Ngangchen Rinpoche’s heart disciples.

Rinpoche went on to study at Juela Monastery, Tsurphu Monastery, and later in India and Nepal, receiving teachings, empowerments, and transmissions from many eminent masters such as H.H. Tai Situ Rinpoche, H.H. Gyaltsab Rinpoche, H.H. Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche, H.H. Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, H.H. Bokar Tulku Rinpoche, H.H. Penor Rinpoche, and countless others. During seven years at Rumtek Monastery’s Karma Shri Nalanda Institute in Sikkim, Gyaltsen Rinpoche served as head chant master and contributed significantly to the local Buddhist community.

Rinpoche has been tirelessly promoting the Dharma across Tibet and abroad, especially in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, offering teachings, liberating countless beings, and performing acts of charity. He has enabled the construction of Tana Monastery Lecture Hall, and the rebuilding of the Dhonggar Palri Monastery in Nangqên, Tibet, and established charitable organisation including the Dhonggar Palri Six Pāramitā Foundations in Jambi.

Out of boundless compassion, His Holiness Tulku Karma Trinley Thubten Chöje Gyaltsen Rinpoche has been choosing rebirth in saṃsāra; continuing to follow the Buddha’s teachings and dedicating all endeavours and offerings to the welfare of beings, embodying tireless devotion and dedication to help beings attain enlightenment.
