From beginningless time until the present, His Holiness (H.H.) Karma Trinley Thubten Chöje Gyaltsen Rinpoche has manifested in successive incarnations, performing vast and profound activities that benefit countless beings. Here, from among his immeasurable accomplishments, a brief account of his sacred biography is presented.
The noble master was once born on the banks of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, into a family that upheld the Sakya lineage. At that time, through practicing the Vajrayana teachings, he attained the highest realization and was known as Dharma King Manjulu.
Thereafter, he was reborn in the sacred land of Dome Agyong as Gonchok Lama Gunga, where he fully accomplished the practice of Mahāmudrā.
Later, he took birth as the great scholar Jamyang Chögyal Lodrö, who realised boundless knowledge and made an indelible contribution to the Dharma and to sentient beings.
After that, he was reborn as Sangye Nangwa Nyingpo of the Three Kāyas, who, through diligent practice of the highest tantras, attained great realization and, as a tertön (treasure revealer), propagated the Vajrayana teachings.
Subsequently, he appeared in the land of Gönpo Jürong as Ridag Dödong Chödrak, who, with unsurpassable bodhicitta, subdued many gods and spirits, safeguarding the peace of Tibet.
Thereafter, he was again born in Dome as Agyong Gyaltsen, a great scholar who deeply studied and mastered the Dharma.
Later, he incarnated as the realized yogin Karma Rangyur, who, for the benefit of all beings, remained in solitary retreat within sacred caves, tirelessly practicing Vajrayana. Through unhindered realisation, he attained the rainbow body.
In this present life, he has reincarnated as The Living Buddha H.H. Karma Trinley Thubten Chöje Gyaltsen Rinpoche. Numerous masters of prophecy, masters of dissolution and rebirth, and diviners unanimously recognised him as the authentic reincarnation of a great spiritual master. Many eminent Tibetan masters composed long-life prayers and praises in his honour. In particular, the venerable scholar and accomplished master H.H. Kyabje Trulshik (Ngawang Chökyi Lodrö) Rinpoche, the embodiment of wisdom, compassion, and power, the sole refuge of all Tibetan masters of that time—out of great joy and compassion, formally recognised Gyaltsen Rinpoche as a Living Buddha, issuing the confirmation of his incarnation and prophesying that in the future Gyaltsen Rinpoche would become an outstanding master who would accomplish vast activities for the benefit of beings. Beside Trulshik Rinpoche—H.H. Chödrak Saljey Rinpoche, H.H. Drupön Dechen Rinpoche, and H.H. the 18th Dülmo Chojé Rinpoche also provided formal statements recognising Gyaltsen Rinpoche as an incarnation of a Tulku. Similarly, these venerable masters foresaw the notable works Gyaltsen Rinpoche would conduct to help sentient beings attain realisation.
Throughout these successive incarnations, the Dharma King have continuously and tirelessly worked for the welfare of beings, carrying out the true responsibilities of Tathāgata without pause.
